As we gear up for our competitive season each year, we have representatives from high tech companies give presentations on engineering, product marketing and design.
Here are some highlights from recent visits.
Dimension 3D Printer

Computer-Aided Products Demonstrates the Dimension 3D Printer and Gives an Overview of Rapid Prototyping to the Robotics Team

ActivMedia designs, integrates and manufactures intelligent mobile robots and their navigation, control, sensing and response systems.

Rotary International
| |
The team was treated to a special
presentation that our key sponsor, Ken Grabeau of
Monarch Instrument, does with Rotary International.
Ken demonstrated the low-tech water filtering system
that he designed and is sending to third-world
countries. This system allows a family of 6 to have an
endless supply of purified drinking water.
This system replaces a concrete filtering system with a
light-weight rotational molded device that uses a low maintenance bio filter.
Thank you, Ken, for your enlightening presentation on
the value of community service work.

BAE Systems & Lockheed Martin

Engineers from BAE Systems shared highlights of the F/A-22 Raptor and F35 weapons systems. The team also visited the Lockheed Martin plant in Atlanta GA and toured the production plant where the jets are manufactured.

A representative from iRobot demonstrated their military robot Packbot and gave a sneak peek of the Roomba robotic vacuum.

Our team visited the JAWS facility, where parts are created using advanced water jet technology.
