Helping out other teams
Team 138 helps out new teams by donating unused parts. From the parts they built a tee-shirt launching robot. Check out our News page for a link to read more.

FIRST LEGO League Exhibition

Our FIRST Robotics team members love assisting at the local Lego League competitions. We help set up the tables and reset between matches. Some of us serve as judges and timers. Additionally, we provide the pizza lunch and drinks to the hungry crowd while demonstrating our robot to the aspiring roboteers.

Annual Comedy Night!

Our annual Comedy Night is our main fundraising event. We host professional comedians from the Boston area, give a live robot demonstration, and show videos of past competitions. This event has become a venue for providing professional entertainment to the local community. We advance the goals of FIRST through this community outreach which highlights our accomplishments and honors our sponsors and advisors. Past comedians have included major talent from Boston, New York and Las Vegas: Paul Nardizzi, Jim Lauletta, John Turco, Jim Colliton, Artie Januario, Dan Sally, Dave Greenberg, and others.

Amherst 4th of July Parade

The Amherst 4th of July parade has become an annual event for us. We enjoy parading our robot down the common and showing it off to the community, especially the kids! Our robot makes the 1-mile journey under battery power, controlled by us from the back of our decorated pickup truck.

Contact us for giving live demonstrations of our award-winning robots. We have appeared at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium for “Spacetacular Saturday” and local community schools and libraries.
